Lady Of Honour on track for Magic Millions Guineas

Co-trainers Ben & Jd Hayes are seeking their first Magic Millions Day success as a partnership in January with filly Lady Of Honour pointed towards the $2,000,000 Guineas for three-year-olds over 1400 metres.

With a record of three wins and a second placing in her four starts to-date, including a last start victory in the Listed Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield late last month, Lady Of Honour is progressing well according to Ben Hayes.

“She’s freshened up,” Hayes said of the filly’s mini break.

“We’ll get her up there to the Gold Coast a bit early and we might look at giving her a jump-out leading into the race and she should be ready to go.”

Lady Of Honour is rated an $18 chance for the Magic Millions Day feature.

Dominating her rivals on debut in a 1200 metre maiden at Ballarat in October, a gutsy effort followed to win at Benchmark 64 level at Sandown over 1300 metres on 17 November.

Her recovery from the win at Caulfield has pleased the Lindsay Park team.

“She’s really come through that last win good,” Ben adds.

“She’s been up at the farm and she did a little bit of 14’s earlier in the week and she looks fantastic.”

They may also have stablemate Luna Cat heading to the Guineas at Gold Coast on 15 January.

Luna Cat will line up at Flemington on Saturday in search of three wins in-a-row after succeeding at Moonee Valley in a Benchmark 64 on 3 December.

“She’s won her last two in good style,” Ben said.

“But it’s a step up in class, so we’ll see.”

Luna Cat is rated a $51 chance for the Magic Millions Guineas. The Robert and Luke Price-trained Jamaea shares favouritism at $8 with King Of Sparta, trained by Peter & Paul Snowden.
