The Ciaron Maher & David Eustace stable have the highest number of two-year-olds remaining for the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes following the closure of First Acceptances.

Maher and Eustace account for almost 10 per cent of the 933 two-year-old that remain after First Acceptance closed last week.

A total of 933 juveniles were paid up for of which 89 are in the care of Maher and Eustace.

The 933 is the highest number of First Acceptances, eclipsing the previous record of 841 in 2020.

Chasing their maiden Blue Diamond title, Maher and Eustace have a number of well-bred babies entered including the progeny of Silent Sedition, Secret Agenda and former stable star Jameka, while of those that have raced Coolangatta is among the team.

Their greatest challenge may come from Annabel Neasham, a former stable employee of Maher and Eustace, who has a sizeable 67 First Acceptances of her own.

Mick Price will aim to claim another Blue Diamond title in 2022 having 54 entries with partner Michael Kent (Jnr), while the all-conquering Godolphin operation have entered 53 juveniles, including bluebloods from brilliant mares Earthquake and Guelph among them.

James Cummings also decided to further bolster Godolphin’s arsenal by paying a $5500 Late Entry fee for Kermadec filly Victorine.

Out of Danehill mare Virago, Victorine was impressive winning a Warwick Farm trial last week while Debutant Stakes (1000m) winner Kiki Express was another Late Entry.

Sires I Am Invincible (68) and Snitzel (63) trade blows in their battle of the best represented stallion while Zoustar (56) has proven almost as popular.

The 2022 Blue Diamond Stakes series kicks off on January 26 with the Blue Diamond Previews (1000m) with the Blue Diamond Stakes to be run on February 26.
