David Brideoake and Matt Jenkins are enjoying a strong run with their “Prestige” branded horses and hope to extend that form when Prestige Ole contests the Listed Anzac Day Stakes (1400m) at Flemington this Friday.

Prestige Ole will be chasing a hat-trick of wins after the stable already celebrated metropolitan victories with Prestige Forever, Prestige Snitzel, and the colt himself over the past five weeks.

Following a maiden win at Ballarat on March 7, Prestige Ole stepped up in trip to 1400m and narrowly prevailed at Flemington on March 29.

Despite a month between runs, Brideoake is confident the two-year-old has maintained his upward momentum.

“He worked on Saturday morning over 1000 metres on the course proper and I think he’s continued to progress,” Brideoake said.

“His recovery was fabulous, and my feeling is pretty good with him, I think we’ll go okay.

“He’s only got to make a little step to be pretty competitive.

“I love horses that keep improving, bit by bit, and he’s one of those.”

Prestige Forever and Prestige Snitzel already have spring aspirations, and the team hopes Prestige Ole can earn his way into those plans as well.

Prestige Forever is spelling after contesting the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Randwick, and Prestige Snitzel is also on a break after a recent Mornington win.

Brideoake believes there’s more to come from Prestige Ole as he matures.

“He’ll get a mile in the spring and he’s just getting bigger and stronger,” Brideoake said.

“He’s actually thrived with the training.

“At one stage I thought he might have to go out for a spell, but he’s gone the other way.

“I’ve stepped it up and he’s come up to match it.”

Ben Allen, successful on Prestige Ole last start, will be back in the saddle at Flemington.
