Feature racing extends to Monday this week, and the time-honoured Group 2 Adelaide Cup headlines a huge program at Morphettville.
I’ve run the rule over every galloper and race, and you can find my complete 2022 Adelaide Cup Day Tips below.

Adelaide Galvanising Industries Handicap (1200m) – 1pm AEDT
Tip: No. 1 Mac ‘n’ Cheese
Mac ‘n’ Cheese hasn’t been seen at the races since September, but she has raced well fresh previously, and I am confident that her class edge will take her a long way towards winning.
The daughter of Sebring made five appearances during her debut prep, winning the Listed Oaklands Stakes most notably.
This looks a nice launchpad for her.
Listed Cinderella Stakes (1050m) – 1:35pm AEDT
Tip: No. 1 See You In Heaven
See You In Heaven is another filly that can make a winning return on Adelaide Cup Day.
The daughter of Divine Prophet was nothing short of outstanding in her debut performance on Cup Day, winning the Group 3 Ottawa Stakes.
Her recent trial was excellent, and she can keep alive her unbeaten career start.
G.H. Mumm Handicap (1600m) – 2:10pm AEDT
Tip: No. 5 Tradewind
There is a case to be made for a few in this contest, including Tradewind.
Tradewind has raced largely consistently throughout his busy preparation, and he takes his place in this field following a smart run for third in BM86 company here at Morphettville.
He’s rock-hard fit, gets some relief in the weights, and we can have an each-way plat at around the $14 mark.
Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1050m) – 2:45pm AEDT
Tip: No. 9 Larkham
Larkham takes winning form into Race 4 on Adelaide Cup Day, and he looks capable of making it two in a row.
The Sidestep gelding finished fourth, beaten three lengths here when resuming, but enjoyed big improvement into an eye-catching win last time out.
Fitter third-up and from the good draw, he can continue his rise through the grades.
Listed CS Hayes Memorial Cup (1600m) – 3:20pm AEDT
Tip: No. 6 Ecumenical
She is a little inconsistent and a bit of an enigma, but we all know how good Ecumenical can be at her best, particularly at a mile, and I’m going to have something on in the CS Hayes Memorial Cup.
The Zebedee mare was excellent during her two-year-old season and into three, and while she was a little disappointing during her recent spring prep, I thought that her resuming effort here was full of merit.
The $16 about her at publish is over the odds, and we can have an each-way play.
Listed Matrice Stakes (1200m) – 4pm AEDT
Tip: No. 1 Sansom
The Matrice Stakes always draws a talented field of sprinters and there is certainly no exception to that rule this week.
There is a case to be made for a few here, but I think that at around the $7 mark, Sansom looks a great bet.
Sansom has been a great horse for the Phillip Stokes yard throughout his career, and he has typically kept his best performances for earlier in his preparations.
He is a multiple black type winner and with even luck, he can certainly win this.
Group 2 Adelaide Cup (3200m) – 4:45pm AEDT
Tip: No. 6 Tigertiger
It’s another wide-open edition of the Adelaide Cup, and we’ll be treated to a great staying feature on Monday afternoon.
I’ve put Tigertiger on top, but you can find my complete 2022 Adelaide Cup Tips RIGHT HERE.
Listed Morphettville Guineas (1600m) – 5:25pm AEDT
Tip: No. 15 Ancient Girl
Clinton McDonald has sent Ancient Girl to Adelaide for the Morphettville Guineas, and I think she’ll take a power of beating.
The daughter of Turn Me Loose was far too good for them at Sandown when resuming this time, and she takes her place in this field third-up and following a nice run for third in The Vanity.
She harbours improvement, this is an easier race, and she is my best bet of the day.
Grand Syndicates Handicap (1200m) – 6:05pm AEDT
Tip: No. 7 Sparkup
I’m going to give Sparkup another chance to win when he steps out in the last on Adelaide Cup Day.
The Magnus gelding did score in BM70 company when returning here on Boxing Day, but he has incredibly finished second in each of his last three starts.
He’s fit, drawn to effect, and might not be offered a better opportunity than this.
