Eight races make up Wednesday’s mid-week meeting at Bendigo.

The rail is in the true position throughout and there is a chance of rain.

Our best bets for the entire program can be found below.

Race 1 – 12:00pm – Adroit Maiden Plate, (1100m)

Tough way to start the day with a few facing the starter for the first time.

Birthday Suit was good on debut a few weeks ago over the track and trip, working home late for third after racing three-wide.

She’s clearly got a turn of foot and should be doing her best work late again if Dean Yendall can make full use of the soft draw.

Race 2 – 12:35pm – Bendigo Mazda Maiden Plate, (1300m)

Unforgiven returns to the races as a gelding and looks well-placed to break his maiden.

The son of Snitzel turned in a couple of fair efforts at Sale and Sandown over the autumn and was strong to the line when fourth in his Cranbourne trial recently.

Jamie Mott has options from barrier 7 and he should the pair should be thereabouts in the finish.

Race 3 – 1:10pm – The Big Screen Company 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate, (1300m)

De La Fayette was among a wall of horses to hit the line two runs back at Geelong where she battled on for fifth.

She went on to record a similar result in her latest run at Echuca, a form-line that reads well with the runner-up going on to find the money again at Cranbourne last week.

The Written Tycoon filly is rock-hard fit now for three runs back and the step back to 1300m from the mile looks ideal.

Race 4 – 1:45pm – Bendigo Skin Clinic Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate, (1500m)

Regal Valour caught plenty of eyes on debut, bolting in for third after the speed quickened late over 1200m at Hamilton.

The Matt Cumani-trained filly got away awkwardly that day but was super impressive over the final 200m.

This race really doesn’t look any harder and she should appreciate the extra trip based on her previous performance.

Race 5 – 2:20pm – Roll the Dice Racing Class 1 Handicap, (1400m)

There’s a case to be made for a few here in what is a very wide-open race.

Around the Horn was an impressive winner on debut but hasn’t been on the scene in over a year.

Sold tha Car broke his maiden two back at Kyneton and was among the placegetters last week at Ballarat over the same trip. Hasn’t run a bad race in four starts to date and looks a major player.

Jolting faced tougher company first-up at Horsham over 1200m and should appreciate the drop back in grade and trip. Won his maiden over this distance last time in work and gets Declan Bates again.

Kiss Me If You Can won his maiden over a touch further at Kilmore and is worth a though in exotics.

Race 6 – 2:55pm – Apiam Animal Health BM78 Handicap, (1300m)

Just Jake is worth forgiving on his most recent run when 10 of 11 at Moonee Valley over 1200m.

I don’t think he handled the tight track that day, but his form prior reads well.

The Reward for Effort gelding won back-to-back starts at Benalla and Ballarat, while he’s also placed in all three of his starts over 1300m.

He’s finished in the money in all seven of his starts at Bendigo and looks a nice price to add to that record.

Race 7 – 3:30pm – BM64 Handicap, (2400m)

Lots to like about Bazini following a runner-up to Heberite at Warrnambool over 3100m last time out.

That horse went on to win last weekend at Ararat, so the form gets a big tick in what will be his fifth run back.

The Symon Wilde-trained gelding also beat home Victoria Derby placegetter Teewaters in his win at Donald three runs back.

He should appreciate getting back to a firm track and he’ll only be fitter for recent racing.

Race 8 – 4:05pm – BM64 Handicap, (1100m)

Zooming Zebra has been up for a while, but her recent form does read well in what is a very wide-open race to wrap up the day.

The mare by Redente was unlucky not to score three runs back over this track and trip, and she’s since gone on to run well against much tougher company in her last two starts.

This is a drop back in class, so if we have some rain about towards the end of the day, I think she’s a big chance.
