Race 1: Greg Miles Trophy (1100m) – 12:35pm
Tip: No. 4 Out Of Africa
A very tough way to start the day with not a lot of exposed form to go on.
Out Of Africa was an impressive winner on debut at Morphettville and she has drawn the inside barrier for this contest.
Race experience will be an advantage.
Race 2: Benchmark 70 Handicap (1600m) – 1:10pm
Tip: No. 5 Royal Order
Eight year old Royal Order has been ticking away nicely so far this prep and has been placed in two of his three starts.
He was beaten less than half a length at Pakenham last time out in a benchmark 78 and will find this event much easier.
Should be plenty fit and represents good value at the double figure odds.
Race 3: Benchmark 78 Handicap (1100m) – 1:45pm
Tip: No. 6 Florescent Star
Florescent Star returned a nice effort when resuming at The Valley over the short course, beaten just over two lengths.
She will take plenty of benefit out of that run and the step up to 1100m, where she has two wins from three starts, will suit.
Race 4: Benchmark 78 Handicap (2500m) – 2:20pm
Tip: No. 7 Brilliant Venture
Brilliant Venture stepped up in class last start at The Valley after a string of consistent performances.
He put together back to back wins by a combined 5.25 lengths at Cranbourne and Mornington leading into that seventh at The Valley where he was beaten three lengths.
There is no doubting that he is fit enough and he represents good each way value at $17 at time of publish.
Race 5: Benchmark 70 Handicap (1400m) – 3:00pm
Tip: No. 7 Philadelphia Storm
Philadelphia Storm broke through for his maiden race win at just his second start at Wangaratta four weeks ago by over three lengths.
The son Choisir will derive plenty of benefit from that run and although this is a step up in class, he is a young horse with plenty of natural ability.
Race 6: Benchmark 84 Handicap (1400m) – 3:40pm
Tip: No. 2 Lighthouse
Lighthouse currently has a flawless record so far this prep from her two starts.
She has wins at Kyneton and Ballarat by a combined five lengths and five wins from 11 overall starts.
The lightly raced five year old mare she be ready to peak at her third run and the 1400m looks ideal.
Race 7: Listed Kensington Stakes (1000m) – 4:20pm
Tip: No. 2 Sartorial Splendour
Sartorial Splendour has been a very consistent horse throughout his 18 start career, winning six times and filling the places a further four.
He finished his last campaign with back to back wins at Flemington and Caulfield and he has finished in the top two in four of five first up runs.
Represents good value.
Race 8: Benchmark 84 Handicap (1800m) – 5:00pm
Tip: No. 1 Royal Mile
Royal Mile has been a consistent performer throughout his short racing career and this prep has been no exception.
A win at Morphettville was followed by a fourth in the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes last start at Caulfield where he was beaten less than a length.
1800m is ideal at his fourth run in and the apprentice will give him some weight relief.
Race 9: Benchmark 70 Handicap (1200m) – 5:40pm
Tip: Boxed Trifecta 1/8/9/10 *sub 17*
