The Magic Millions 2YO Classic has been won by some outstanding juveniles since its inception, and another classy field will assemble for the $2 million feature on the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Coolangatta looks to have a very bright future, and it comes as no surprise that she has opened a clear favourite in 2022 Magic Millions Classic betting.
Have I put her on top? Scroll down to my complete 2022 Magic Millions Classic Tips to find out!
Magic Millions 2YO Classic – Winner – No. 9 Coolangatta
She simply hasn’t put a hoof wrong since debuting, so of course I have put Coolangatta on top of my Magic Millions 2YO Classic tips.
The Written Tycoon filly returned an eye-catching trial at Randwick prior to debuting, and she put the writing on the wall with a dominant win in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes in October.
She returned from a break with another commanding win, this time in the Group 3 McLachlan Stakes at Doomben, and she will only improve for that effort.
James McDonald rides, with the only query being her drawing of barrier 13.
Magic Millions 2YO Classic – 2nd – No. 12 Miss Hellfire
I’ve been quite impressed with what I’ve seen of Miss Hellfire so far, and I think that she represents a big of value in Magic Millions Classic betting at around the $11 mark.
Miss Hellfire won a couple of trials at Randwick prior to making her debut, and she kept all of her best work for late when second, beaten by just over a head in the Wyong Magic Millions race in December.
She broke her maiden here on the Gold Coast last weekend, and I like that she is on the short back-up third-up in Saturday’s feature.
Magic Millions 2YO Classic – 3rd – No. 11 Russian Conquest
Russian Conquest is another galloper who puts an unbeaten record on the line in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, and she also rates as a key winning chance.
The Russian Revolution filly charged in to score an impressive win on debut at Newcastle in November, and she resumed from a freshen-up to strike again at Randwick on Boxing Day.
There is no doubt that this is a big rise in class, however she looks to have plenty of upside and was arguably the big winner at Tuesday Magic Millions barrier draw when allocated gate 4.
Magic Millions 2YO Classic – 4th – No. 4 Mishani Spartan
If you missed his performance here on the Gold Coast last week, I urge you to go and check out what Mishani Spartan did.
He was settled off the pace by Brett Prebble after jumping fairly and looked to have way too much work ahead of him when they turned for home.
Prebble elected to take the Husson gelding back to the inside of the field, and was greeted with an enormous turn of foot when he asked the horse for an extra effort, who proceeded to put away his rivals with ease.
If he holds his form of even improves, I for one would not be surprised to see him fighting out the finish again this week.
