Dominant.com.au Handicap (1000m) – 12:40pm AEDT
Tip: No. 1 Unflinching
Unflinching puts an unbeaten record on the line when he resumes in the first at The Valley on Saturday, and he looks capable of keeping it alive.
The I Am Invincible colt stamped himself as one to watch with a dominant win on debut at Mornington, and he franked that effort in a better race here at The Valley in November.
He should receive every chance in this small field and will take beating.
Dominant Cleaning Solutions Handicap (1200m) – 1:15pm AEDT
Tip: No Bet
Just two of the nine confirmed starters in the second have raceday experience and subsequently, plenty of debutants are given a real chance in betting.
These sorts of races are not for me and I am going to stay out, with a view towards something later in the season.
Mirasan.com Handicap (2500m) – 1:50pm AEDT
Tip: No. 5 Daqiansweet Junior
Daqiansweet Junior’s recent form has been nothing short of outstanding, and he’ll take plenty of beating again at The Valley this week.
The Sweet Orange gelding returned to winning form at Pakenham in November and simply hasn’t looked back, winning each of his two subsequent starts in impressive fashion.
He’s rock-hard fit, handles The Valley and is ready to get out to 2500m.
Mia Kleer Handicap Sanitiser Handicap (2500m) – 2:25pm AEDT
Tip: No. 1 Saving
Saving takes winning form into Race 4 at The Valley on Saturday and looks well placed to make it two in a row.
The Savabeel gelding has been a model of consistency throughout his busy campaign, and he has missed placing only once in his last seven trips to the races, winning three times.
He has shown a clear affiliation with racing at The Valley and this looks a terrific opportunity for him to strike in Saturday metro company.
Ladbrokes Fast Withdrawals Handicap (1000m) – 3:00pm AEDT
Tip: No. 2 Yulong Command
Yulong Command can return to winning form at The Valley on Saturday afternoon.
Yulong Command has been a strong and consistent performer since resuming this time, winning over 955m here at The Valley most notably, before finishing third in the Listed Doveton Stakes most notably.
He’s about a month between runs, but does tend to perform well when fresh, and he boasts a class edge over most of these.
Dominant – Protection your Brand Handicap (1200m) – 3:40pm AEDT
Tip: No. 11 Sharp Response
Sharp Response only just missed when a head second behind Clemenceau at Flemington first-up, and he looks well placed to go one better at The Valley this week.
The Maurice gelding stamped himself as a galloper to following during his debut prep, finding form around some good horses and winning twice.
His first-up effort this time suggested that he has only furnished into a better horse, and he is primed to strike under these conditions.
Mirasan Handicap Sanitiser Handicap (1500m) – 4:20pm AEDT
Tip: No. 4 Fundraiser
I thought that there was a lot to like about Fundraiser’s resuming effort at HQ at the beginning of the month, and he’ll take plenty of improvement into this race.
The Helmet gelding settled off the pace in the 1200m sprint and let down with a nice turn of foot to finish just over a length behind Pioneer River.
The rise in trip this week suits, and so long as he handles The Valley, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.
Dominant Sanitation Solutions Handicap (1200m) – 5:00pm AEDT
Tip: No. 11 In The Boat
In The Boat is seeking a fourth win in succession when he steps out at The Valley on Saturday, and it does look another winnable race for him.
The Nostradamus gelding was far too good for a BM64 field at The ‘Bool back in October, and he returned from a short spell to strike at Caulfield on Boxing Day.
He franked that effort with another lovely win at Caulfield last time, beating home the likes of Marine One, and he needs only even luck again this week.
Dominant Plant Powered Cleaning Handicap (1200m) – 5:40pm AEDT
Tip: No. 11 Patrika Gold
She faces a rise in class into the last at The Valley on Saturday, but Patrika Gold simply couldn’t have been more impressive on debut, and she can keep alive her unbeaten record.
The Puissance De Lune mare mustered a lightning turn of foot to easily put away her rivals at Terang, greeting the judge almost five lengths in the clear of her rivals.
She’ll only improve for that experience, and I am happy to stick with her.
