Sandown Tips, Best Bets and Race Previews – 9/2/2022

We’re back racing at Sandown on Wednesday with an action packed 8 race card. As the Autumn Carnival edges closer these races will be well worth keeping a close eye on, read our race by race preview and tips below.

Preview brought to you by Ladbrokes. Learn more about Ladbrokes HERE.

Sandown – Race 3, 4:50pm AEDT

Tip – No. 3 Secret Glamour

Secret Glamour returns from a freshen-up and looks tough to beat following two impressive runs at Flemington and Caulfield recently.

The Sebring filly ran a narrow second two back at Headquarters after being held up down the straight, and she probably deserved to finish closer at Caulfield after settling too far back.

She tends to do her best work fresh, while the form out of her last start reads well with Americain Angel going on to win again.

Sandown – Race 5, 6:00pm AEDT

Tip – No. 2 Along The River

Along The River is the deserving favourite in the fifth at Sandown this evening.

The colt by Written Tycoon was a clear winner over this track and trip under Jamie Kah two starts back prior to his last run at Flemington where he gave a good chase to Clemenceau.

He’s been kept fresh for the run, and now reunites with Kah, who steers from an ideal barrier. Fitter for three runs back, they’ll take beating.

Sandown – Race 7, 7:00pm AEDT

Tip – No. 3 Our Modena

Our Modena won by a clear margin two back at Sandown and was far from disgraced at Flemington over 1400m when sixth last month.

She returns from a brief freshen-up and steps up to the mile, a trip she’s won twice over in the past.

The Tavistock mare is a very genuine customer and she should be doing her best work late.

Sandown – Race 8, 7:30pm AEDT

Tip – No. 7 Logan Street Lion

Logan Street Lion is a progressive type out of the Chris Waller yard that has so far won twice over 1400m.

He fought home bravely to win by a length after copping some interference over this track and trip three weeks ago, largely due to a beautiful steer from Damien Thornton.

The pair look to combine again and appear capable of going on with it from the low draw.
