The mid week Magic Millions card at Wyong is not only a highly anticipated meeting but also a good guide heading toward the Gold Coast meeting in January.
There is seven races on the program on Wednesday and our full 2021 Wyong magic Millions Day Tips & Preview can be found below.
Preview brought to you by Neds. Learn more about Neds HERE.
Race 1: Benchmark 68 Handicap (1600m) – 1:45pm
Tip: No. 1 Highly Desired
Highly Desired was excellent when resuming from a spell at Goulburn over 1300m, winning by a length on the good track.
He was no match for them in the Mudgee Cup last start but he will appreciate the step back in grade for this assignment.
Race 2: Benchmark 64 Handicap (2100m) – 2:20pm
Tip: No. 8 Surjin
The Paul Perry trained Surjin is well over the odds at $19 in the second event of the day on Wyong Magic Millions Day.
The seven year old was beaten just half a length at Quirindi three starts back and has been far from disgraced at his next couple in open company.
He has been up for a long time and fitness will not be a worry.
Race 3: Maiden Handicap (1350m) – 2:55pm
Tip: No. 3 El Nido
Five year old mare El Nino finally made her racing debut at Wyong over 1100m three weeks ago, finishing 1.6 lengths from the winner.
She will take plenty of improvement out of that, both in experience and in fitness, and in a race that lacks a whole heap of depth she will be tough to beat.
Race 4: Magic Millions 3YO & 4YO Stakes (1200m) – 3:30pm
Tip: No. 1 Head Legislator
Head Legislator is a progressive four year old gelding who closed out his last campaign with back to back wins by over a length each time.
He has been placed in eight of his 10 career starts to this point and I love the way he trialed at Warwick Farm in the lead up to this first up assignment.
Can go to another level this campaign starting with a win here.
Race 5: Class 1 Handicap (1600m) – 4:05pm
Tip: No. 3 Al Sahara
The John Sargent trained Al Sahara is a talented young race mare who put broke through for her maiden race win two back at Scone in dominant fashion to score by over two and a half lengths.
She has been placed in nine of 13 career race starts which makes her last start effort, when finishing last at Warwick Farm, unusual.
I’m willing to forgive that run and give her another chance in this event.
Race 6: Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1100m) – 4:40pm
Tip: No. 2 Hell I Am
Hell I Am heads into the feature race of the day off the back of a nice trial win at Canterbury on the soft track.
Hugh Bowman gave the son of Hellbent a crack with the whip and he won the trial by 1.4 lengths ahead of Man In The Mirror.
Bowman will steer from barrier six and if he continues to improve, he will be right in this race.
Race 7: Benchmark 64 Handicap (1100m) – 5:15pm
Tip: Box Trifecta 1/6/7/14
