{"id":720079,"date":"2024-12-13T14:20:24","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T04:20:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racingfans.com.au\/?p=720079"},"modified":"2024-12-13T14:20:24","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T04:20:24","slug":"final-siren-auditions-for-ascot-features","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racingfans.com.au\/news\/final-siren-auditions-for-ascot-features\/720079","title":{"rendered":"Final Siren auditions for Ascot racing features"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Feature sprint races in Perth early next year are on the table for Albany speedster, Final Siren if he comes through his return run in good order at Ascot.<\/p>\n<p>The promising four-year-old, back in the care of trainer Rebecca Bayliss, kicks off his campaign in the Bisley Workwear Handicap (1000m) on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt depends on Saturday, but we\u2019re just seeing how he goes,\u201d Bayliss said on Tabradio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he races really well we\u2019ll probably decide from there, we\u2019ve looked at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justhorseracing.com.au\/summer-scorcher\">Summer Scorcher (1000m)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll try and win another one of these sort of races and then look for something else and go on from there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re just letting him tell us what he wants to do, he\u2019s only four, so we have plenty of time for those big races.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Final Siren\u00a0has flashed potential for Bayliss from the get-go, winning on debut at home in Albany by a sizeable margin.<\/p>\n<p>He carried that form to the city with smart wins at Ascot and Belmont.<\/p>\n<p>The I\u2019m All The Talk gelding is back with Bayliss after being domiciled in Bunbury during a winter stint with Michael Lane.<\/p>\n<p>He never finished past second last campaign, ending a successful preparation with a runner-finish to Ginnivan.<\/p>\n<p>From nine starts he has improved his record to five wins and two seconds for prizemoney of nearly $200,000.<\/p>\n<p>Effective over 1000m and 1100m, Bayliss said the next step for Final Siren is to stretch out over more ground.<\/p>\n<p>A strong alibi in his favour is champion jockey William Pike, who built up a good association with him when last in work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s what we\u2019re hoping,\u201d Bayliss said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTalking with Pikey, he sort of felt that was the way to go.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said he\u2019s starting to settle better in his races and feels he will be stepping over those distances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s yet to be seen, but it\u2019s something that we want from him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s something we\u2019ll try this time in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tabtouch punters think Final Siren will be the horse to beat on the weekend, their confidence influenced by a trial win in Albany.<\/p>\n<p>Final Siren is the $3 favourite and with the claim of Brayden Gaerth, carries 58kg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s going very well,\u201d Bayliss said.<\/p>\n<p>The Summer Scorcher, a Listed race over 1000m, is staged at Ascot on January 1.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Feature sprint races in Perth early next year are on the table for Albany speedster, Final Siren if he comes through his return run in good order at Ascot.
